Occationally the application information included for IR SPEKTRA may become lost over time or the manufacturer may have missed adding it to the box. Below is that information reproduced. The formating may not be the same, but the words and section titles are identical. Our additional recommendations to those below are to finish after the nylon brush with a horsehair brush to better expose the base structure. We also suggest that during the brushing that the bases be sprayed lightly with water -- this helps reduce static on the bases and align the fluoronated wax on the bases.
High Fluor content glider line for top level competition and demanding fitness skiers. Only the purest raw materials are used for this series. The line's high fluor content gives the waxes their superior gliding and dirt replelling properties. Excellent results can be achieved by using these gliders by themselves as the finishing top layer, together with Vauhti's Fluor powders or with other Vauhti Fluor top layer additives.
Yellow is used in watery and moist conditions on either side of the freezing point. The recommended funtional range in humidity less than 75% is the freezing point and warmer and in over 75% humidity from above freezing down to -3°C(27°F). Yellow is recommended as the base for the Silver Fox Fluor powder in watery conditions. Use a mild iron setting when applying the wax, let cool to room temperature, scrape and brush thoroughly with a nylon brush.
Pink is for conditions around freezing and mild subzero temperatures. The recommended functionalrange in below 75% humidity is 0°...-3°C (32°...27°F). With greater than 75% humidity the best operating range is -1°..-5°C (30°...23°F). It is the recommended base for Fox 0 and Gold Fox Fluor powders or by itself as the toplayer. The application of pink is the same as the Yellow IR glider.
Violet is designed formild subzero conditions. The recommended functional range in below 75% humidity is -2°...-6°C (28°...21°F). With greater than 75% humidity the best operating range is -4°...-8°C (25°...18°F). Recommended as the base for Gold Fox in mild subzero conditions or by itself as a top coat. Apply a thin layer and let cool for 5-10 minutes, scrape into a thin layer and brush thoroughly with a nylon brush.
Green is designed for extreme conditions. The recommended functional range is in -10°C (14°F) and colder conditions. The gliderforms an extremely hard and shiny surface. Scrape the bases lightly while they are still warm. After they have cooled to room temperature, scrape them over again. Brush the glide surfaces thoroughly with a nylon brush. Finish off the bases outside with 2-3 light passes of a brass brush from tip to tail.
Heating over 300°C (570°F) is prohibited. Open flames and smoking in the waxing facilities and heating of the wax with an open flame is prohibited.
