HWK is a lesser known brand from Austria that really focuses on making super fast racing waxes above everything else! These waxes are one of the top waxes chosen by elite level race teams. They have waxes for every application method and every condition. Their tools are also quite unique and great options to add to your wax box! Note: their catalogue isn't quite up to date!

UHX

HWK's world cup level top coats freshly remade for the 2026-2027 season! These waxes are the best of the best! This line consists of wool-apply blocks, liquids, and powders. These products use the highest quality ingredients for the fastest performing skis that you can get. The UHX products are divided into 3 main snow types: Warm, Mid, and Cold. This year, they cut out the Mid Black version for the block and added New Snow versions for all the powder temperature ranges and the Mid liquid. These snow types are pretty general snow types but they handle different snow crystal sizes within each of their own temperature ranges.
Last year, the UHX Long Distance Base Melt Wax was created for long distance racing.

Prototype Products

The prototype products are specially formulated products based on the UHX line, specifically the liquids and powders. There are 4 powders and 3 liquids. For the powders, the W19 is a dirty snow formula for wet, warm snow, WM25 is for mid-temp transformed snow, and the C8 and C9 are 2 extra cold snow powders for your testing. The C8 is a bit warmer of a wax for fresher snow. The C9 is for colder, drier snow. For the liquids, The FFL-34 is for grainier, older moist-wet snow. The FFL-65 and FFL-66 are specific dirty snow liquids for their respective conditions.

HX Products

The HX line of waxes are the racing base products. Currently produced are a full line of melt waxes, a line of paste products, and a condensed line of liquids. The liquids are pretty universal for their conditions. They are perfect for lower stakes racing and loppets, or as a base for UHX top coat products. The pastes are a happy middle ground between the easy-to-use liquids and the durable melt waxes. They make a great product for racing and high-quality training. The melt waxes are also perfect for these occasions, but the warm and cold products are split into new snow and universal versions.

LX

A small collection of base waxes for training and recreation. The LX line contains a melt wax for the 3 main conditions: Warm, Mid, and Cold; as well as a universal liquid for standard skiing conditions. The LX Base products (Liquid or Paste) are great on their own for easy skiing and training; using as a high quality base for HX or UHX products; or as a loppet wax for skiers that want their skis to be a bit faster on the day!

Other Glide Waxes

A few other great choices from the HWK line up of glide waxes. The Alpine Servicewax and the Racingwax Service are ideal waxes for base prep of brand new and freshly stone-ground skis. They make a great storage and travel wax as well with the Racingwax coming in a pellet option for wax machines. The A1 is a simple, universal recreational wax; great for bulk amounts of skis. The final three waxes are cold weather racing gliders. All 3 are great for mid-winter, aggressive snow. The Polar Extreme powders are 100% raceable waxes! The silver option performs well in new snow conditions!

Waxing Tools

HWK has a few tools that we find unique enough to list.

The solid aluminum groove scraper is by far the nicest, most solid groove scraper money can by. Think of it like a Snap-On wrench, you would never have to buy another plastic one ever again when you have this one but the upfront cost is a bit much.

The plexi scrapers are slightly larger than other brands making them a pleasure to use, though they aren't anything super special.

Nice and wide combi block for felting and corking alpine skis! No more messing around with XC gear on your wider alpine bases.

The new Premium Structure Set is a complete set of World Cup ready rollers! High quality construction means no compromises!

The SpeedPro Structure tool is the Finite geared roller system that seems to no longer be used by Swix. If you have old Finite rollers but no longer have the tool, this will be the one you will want to pick up!

HWK also has a variety of handbrushes that we may or may not be able to special order in, though they do not appear to be anything different from other brand's options.

Roto Tools

We were weary on whether the HWK tools were going to be anything special or not! They are great! Affordable and high quality! With other market options costing so much more, it is crazy to think you would need more than this! The natural brush is ideal for softer waxes when doing base prep! Treat it like you would a horsehair on harder waxes. It cleans deep into structure and preps the ski for a harder wax. Also available are 70mm and 100mm roto kits!

HWK Cycling

Being so fast on skis, you just know that this wax brand will be great for your bike chain! HWK has introduced a full range of products for hot waxing of bike chains! They have fast race options in the RACE hot wax and the chain coating liquid, as well as a durable, standard wax for recreational and training purposes! Also, pick up chain cleaner liquid, and a hot waxing kit! We are super excited to test these products against other ski brand's products!
