Club Support Program: About
At Skiwax.ca, we believe sport is for everyone. Our mission is to promote outdoor sport and build healthy, connected communities. We do this by partnering with clubs, teams, and community groups to grow participation in winter sports across all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
We envision active, vibrant, and inclusive sports communities where people have the resources and opportunities to stay physically active year-round, for life. Our values—Engagement, Belonging, Diversity, Increased Health-Span, and Joy—guide every decision we make.
Why We Partner With Clubs
“Clubs Create opportunities to play, belong, and stay active—for life.”
Whether you are a recreational or competitive skier/rider/biathlete, the ski community offers an exceptional space to be active, connected, and involved in a community that fosters joy, resilience, and better health at every stage of life.
Our Support Programs exist to help all participants—from enthusiastic beginners to experienced racers—stay involved in the sport they love. Whether working toward a personal best, learning new skills, racing in a Loppet, qualifying for a varsity or provincial team, or enjoying the camaraderie of local club events, we aim to make participation more affordable and accessible.
Every skier strengthens the ski community. By supporting athletes who train, compete, volunteer, mentor, and inspire others, we help create a culture where people of all abilities can thrive.

How Support Comes Back Around
Andy Shields, owner and operator of Skiwax.ca, understands the power of support. When he was a young skier in Waterloo, Ontario, Canadian Wintersports Inc. provided his ski club with equipment for the seasonal equipment rental program and supplied the race team with essential wax tools and products. The support gave Andy and his teammates opportunities to race across Canada.
At the age of 28, Andy purchased Canadian Wintersports. Today, he continues to expand that legacy by supporting clubs and individual athletes through the Athlete Support Program and the Club Support Program. His journey illustrates that investing in athletes not only aids their immediate success but also creates a lasting ripple effect of inspiration and opportunity for years to come.
