Start®: Real innovation for real racing

Introducing the 'RG' Wax Line: A Fluor-Free Revolution

Start Ski Wax's "RG" wax line is set to replace the traditional HF (High Fluorocarbon), MF (Medium Fluorocarbon), and LF (Low Fluorocarbon) waxes. This new line offers three distinct products, each designed to meet the needs of various skiing scenarios:

RG BOOST: The best durability, speed, and acceleration Start has to offer! These are World Cup racing top coats ready to bring skis to the podium.

RG-Ultra: RG-Ultra is the ideal choice for prepping race skis. It comes in a variety of forms, including melt wax, liquid, topper gels, and a convenient spray. These products are FAST! We regret not testing them sooner when they ended up being our race wax in essentially every race at the end of the 24-25 season. This comprehensive range ensures that your race skis are prepped to perfection.

RG-Race: For those preparing skis for loppets or important training sessions, RG-Race is the answer. It's available in both liquid and melt wax forms, making it versatile and performance-focused.

RG: RG wax replaces traditional LF waxes and is perfect for everyday training. You can choose between melt wax or liquids, making it easy to find the right solution for your needs. A step up from the SG Line.

SG: The always fluoro-free recreational/training glide wax. Perfect for putting a quick drying, durable, but still speedy glide wax on your skis for a day out on the trails! The very popular SG Green is one of the best base waxes that money can buy!

RG BOOST

The RG Boost line gives your skis the most acceleration and top speed that Start has to offer. A liquid option for short-mid distance racing, and a powder option for mid-long distance racing. Also available is a universal powder spray.

RG Ultra

These waxes are fast! The liquids make a perfect wax for short-mid distance racing. The melt waxes make ideal straight-use waxes or bases for longer distance racing. The RG Ultra Red and Purple liquids were coming up quite frequently in the Canmore Nationals; perfect for glazing snow. New in the 25/26 season are RG Ultra Molybdenum and Graphite melt waxes and the RG Ultra Green Liquid. We are super excited to put the green liquid to use at Lappe this year!

RG Race

A very expansive race wax line! These waxes are perfect for lower stakes races and higher stakes training! Liquids for short-mid distance, and melt waxes for long distance and base waxing. The standard temperature range liquids with the addition of a few mixers/layers, this line will have the wax you need for whatever condition. New with the rest of the Start liquid lines is a Green for very cold, fresher snow.

RG

A mid-range line with liquid waxes only. Perfect for youth racing where races are short and sweet. The RG liquids are also great as a high quality training wax. New with the rest of the Start liquid lines is a Green for very cold, fresher snow.

SG

Start Ski Wax maintains its commitment to quality and performance with its SG line, which remains unchanged. These waxes are perfect for everyday training and basic maintenance. The SG line includes both melt waxes and liquids. New with the rest of the Start liquid lines is a Green for very cold, fresher snow. Also new is an affordable graphite melt wax for base maintenance and dry, powdery snow.

Grip Waxes

Oslo Kick Waxes:

These waxes have always been and will continue to be fluor-free, offering a reliable choice for your kick wax needs in old/dirty/icy snow. Magical mixes of klister, tar, and moly in a hardwax base. The Oslos are a wax tech's favourite when it comes to klister-mix waxes.

R-Series Kick Waxes:

This trio of grip waxes came out quietly in the 24-25 season. We had no idea the conditions that they were for, nor anything else about them. We were quick to find out that they were universally fast almost as if they were magic! Old snow, new snow, whatever! The Blue and Purple are great options for cold-mild snow below zero degrees. They can grip quite well into snow that is well transformed but also keep snowball free on fresher snow tracks. The Red is perfect for snow around the zero point. When you are testing klisters, throw this into the mix and you will be surprised by the results!

Other Racing Hardwaxes:

Whether you want the famous Black Magic grip wax, or you want some of their Wold Cup test waxes, Start will supply your grip! To simplify the products: 3330 is a racing version of the Synthetic Blue, 4193 is the racing version of Tar Red, and 4195 is the racing version of Tar Blue. Black Magic has always been a super popular topper for dirty snow for years!

Tar Kick Waxes:

Ideal for use in new snow conditions, Tar Kick Waxes are less likely to ice up, ensuring consistent performance and smooth glide. Use as a grip wax for your recreational day out on the trails, or as a racing option! There are some conditions (especially around the zero point) where kick waxes are plagued with snowballing. Choosing Start Tar will be your saviour!

Grip Tape

Universal and durable grip wax that lasts most skiers all season! Grip tapes are simply rolled onto a grip zone, and the skis are ready to go! The grip tape can be covered with a very hard wax as well to speed them up or to stop snowballing!
