File guides are used for ensuring the same filing angle throughout your side-edge filing process. Rode`s file guides work in tandem with their diamond files by clamping together. There are 5 angle of guide to choose from, 90° being the least aggressive for recreational skiers, and 86° being the most aggressive for racers and experienced skiers.
